Great turnout for the first 2012 Monday Mayhem! Thanks JD, Craig, Josh, Shannon D, Shannon S, Jeff, Tom, Joey, Danny, Birdman, Ian, Jason, Justin, Nick, Derek, David, Blake, Sam, and Chris for the awesome time (and the ACE POT!).

In case you missed it, there were 5 CTPs consisting of Discraft's new Ti Buzzz, Vibram's Trak, some local dri-fit apparel, and some stickers. This will not be the case every week, but you can count on at least 1 CTP per event.

The bar has already been set high for this year:
1st - Joey/Danny (-17)
2nd - Snowman/Craig (-15)
3rd - Nick/Shannon D (-14)

Also, this is a good opportunity to check out some of our local vendors' products if you are in the market for some new plastic. Don't be a yokel, shop local.

Be sure to check out Monday Mayhem doubles soon, 6PM @ Portland Park. And bring a friend. This is a great time hang with local disc golfers, improve your game, and win cool stuff.

- 1 sticker

See you monday.

Tonight's episode of Monday Mayhem was threatened by rain, but that did not stop 15 of Chattanooga's disc golfers from getting together for a competitive round of doubles at Portland Park. Great turnout, guys. Congrats to JD for nailing 2 out of 3 CTPs, taking home a dri-fit tee and a new Vibram disc. Tonight's top 3 rounds were:

1st - Nick / Connor (-16)
2nd - Joey / Miller (-11)
3rd - Snowman / Justin (-10)

Next week's version of Monday Mayhem will be the pilot for a new format that should add some madness to the mayhem. Players will be placed into A, B, and C pools based on the general consensus of those in attendance. The A and C players will be paired together, and the B players will be paired with each other. There's more - the first round of 9 holes will be doubles, and the second round of 9 will be singles. All three scores will be combined to give each pair its final score for the evening.

We have raised $50 for the club so far this season. Snowman Disc Golf will throw one disc into the Ace Pot for every $100 raised for the club. This means the more who show up, the more stuff you can win. If you have not had a chance to come out and support the club yet on Monday nights, make it a point to do so, soon. And bring a friend.

Well, we set a Portland Mayhem 2012 attendance record tonight with 23 players. Great showing, guys. It was Joey Lutz coming out on top as "Clint" in tonight's showdown. Believe it or not, he also took home the cash CTP and shared the all-new HOT-ROUND pot with Yoder and Tom (http://www.shoptom.com). Congrats to the top 3 for the night:

1st - Joey / "Clint" (-12)
2nd - Levi / Idris (-7)
3rd - Yoder / Tom (-7)

This was also the inaugural night of a new format of play which involves the first round of 9 being doubles and the second round being singles. This obviously brings the scores down and seems to level out the field. This will not be the guaranteed format for every week of Portland Mayhem, but it will be an option unless I receive an overwhelming amount of negative feedback. On that note, please post any feedback regarding this issue as I am curious to know what you think. Also, feel free to post any feedback to help me in my endeavors to make this event as fairly matched as possible.

Thanks again to all who make it out to this event regularly. And if you have not yet had a chance to check it out, come give it a shot. Or 54 shots. Or whatever it takes to complete 18 holes.

I thought the new format was great with the right crowd and maybe not having anyone being Clint could be and was fun last night. I personally feel as a lifetime B player it gives me more hope to see my name in the lights as a winner. Thanks again Snow for doing all this and stepping outside our only 18 hole course inside Chattanooga to do so.

Monday Mayhem certainly lived up to its name this week as 2 teams battled it out in 8 extra holes to determine the champion. While the darkness moved in, it was Nick and Daniel who came out victorious over Birdman and Blake. Congrats to both teams for a solid performance. Mark, Joey, and Nick claimed the 3 CTPs. The top 3 scores were:

1) Nick / Daniel (-13)
2) Birdman / Blake (-13)
3) Matt / Levi (-8)

Thanks to all 18 players who showed up to make the event so competitive and fun. See you next week.

Awesome turnout once again at Portland Park. Thanks to all 23 players, which includes a handful of first-time Monday Mayhem attendees (even 2 ladies), for making it out this week. We had some unusual excitement as David Lane skip-aced #1 with a Firebird, taking home the Ace Pot. Also, congrats to Russ, JD, and Mark who claimed the 3 CTPs. Speaking of ladies, Amber assisted Mark into a 2-hole play-off to determine 2nd place, and she drained the putt that put Snowman and Garrett on the 3rd place pedestal. The top 3 rounds for the week were:

1) Joey / Torre (-11)
2) Mark / Amber (-8)
3) Snowman / Garrett (-8)

In order to continue with the chaotic scheme of Monday Mayhem, next week will incorporate a slightly different match-up system: "The Draft." Players will be divided into A and B pools based on attendee discretion, no C pool. B players will draw cards to determine the order of the draft (Ace, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Joker). A players will then be drafted until everyone is paired. The format of play will remain the same: 1 round of doubles and 1 round of singles. We need plenty of A players for this event, so spread the word.

Good news: we have raised over $100 for the club as of this week, so Snowman Disc Golf will be throwing a free disc into the next Ace Pot. Come and get it!

The chaos at Monday Mayhem continued despite gloomy weather this week. Thanks to the 21 players who made the evening exciting. The draft was instituted as C players chose their partners from the pool of A players. B players selected their own partners amonst themselves. John, one of the highschool guys organizing the installment of the new 9 On Top course on Signal, won 2 out of three CTPs. Jason managed to hang on to his CTP on #1 as he rolled it within a few feet of the basket. Three teams played-off for 3rd place, and it was Birdman and Ian who came out victorious. The top three rounds were:

1) Nick / Raymond (-13)
2) David / clint (-8)
3) Birdman / Ian (-7)

Get your 9 On Top t-shirt for only $10 to support the new course on the mountain from the highschool guys at Monday Mayhem.
